‘Return To Clockwork City’ DLC Hits TES: Legends On Android

Bethesda on Wednesday launched a new expansion pack for its popular collectible card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends, having debuted Return To Clockwork City. As expected, the company’s latest DLC comes with a $19.99 price tag attached to it but ships with 58 new cards and 35 additional story missions spanning three acts. According to the company’s previous statements on the matter, obtaining all of the newly introduced cards by completing the latest single players battles should take up to five hours. As always, the cards you acquire can then be used for building your decks and playing other modes, with this particular model being a fairly established convention in the CCG genre and used by other high-profile games like Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

Another feature utilized by CCGs that Bethesda adopted with TES: Legends is the actual business model utilized for content expansions; while paying $19.99 outright is the simplest way to obtain the new FLC, players also have the option of investing in-game gold to access the same content, with a single act being priced at 1,000 digital gold coins. Only the first act of Return To Clockwork City is currently available and can also be accessed for a one-time fee of $7.00. Should you choose to purchase just the initial episode pack, you’ll be able to subsequently pay for the remaining two at the same price, i.e. buying individual acts instead of the season pass will only save you $1. If Bethesda’s previously employed business practices in regards to TES: Legends are any indication, the price tags attached to the Android game are unlikely to be discounted anytime soon.

Return To Clockwork City’s acts can also be played on the Master difficulty, and beating all 35 missions on that setting will net you an alternative art version of the Swims-at-Night card, Bethesda said. The previously promised Fabricants are now also part of the package, joining TES: Legends’ growing cast of creature types, with the expansion additionally introducing a number of new card mechanics such as Assemble and Treasure Hunt that many veteran CCG players should be familiar with. The new cards will now also start appearing in the Arena and will be offered in the deck drafting phase of the mode at an increased frequency for a limited time, Bethesda said, without elaborating on the matter. Return To Clockwork City was added to the Android game as part of its latest client-side update that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store by referring to the banner below.
