JBL Announces New Sport Headphones & Portable Speakers – IFA 2018

JBL announced a new portable speaker as well as a slew of new headphones at IFA 2018 today. Starting off with the speaker, it’s the Charge 4. This is the successor to the very popular Charge 3 portable speaker, now with 20 hours of continuous playback. This is going to allow you to play music all-day long without worrying about finding a charger to charge the Charge 4. It is also still waterproof, with an IPX7 rating here, so you can toss it into the pool if you’d like. The Charge 4 retains the iconic Charge design here, and it also retains the JBL Connect+ functionality to pair it with up to 100 other JBL Charge 4 speakers.

On the headphones side of things, JBL has a couple of new headphones plus an Under Armour-branded pair. First up is the JBL Endurance Peak, this is an addition to the headphones that it announced at CES in January. This is a pair of headphones designed for active people, whether you’re climbing a mountain or outside running. These are truly wireless headphones, and offer four hours of continuous playback, plus around 24 hours with the included charging case. These also sport JBL’s signature sound quality, so you’re going to get a really good sound experience here. There’s also the JBL TUNE500. These are available as wired or wireless headphones, and the Bluetooth headphones will offer around 16 hours of playback.

Finally, there is the UA Sport Wireless React and Pivot headphones. These are great for those that are going to the gym, as these do have JBL’s iconic sound, it’s going to help pump you up to get through that workout. It also features AmbientAware, which will help keep you aware of your surroundings while still getting rid of background noise. The main difference between the two is that the Pivot will wrap around your ears, while the react do not.

JBL has announced pricing and availability here, and the JBL Charge 4 is coming this fall for $119.95, in black, blue, teal, yellow and red colors. The JBL Tune500 will be priced at $29.95 with the TUNE500BT coming in at $49.95 this fall, in four colors – black, white, blue and pink. Finally, the UA Sports Wireless React and Pivot headphones will both be $139.95, available in black and white, and coming this holiday season.
